Biography

Yves Jeanrenaud (MRICS) heads the firm's real estate and construction group. His main areas of practice include property law, real estate investments and transactions (both domestically and internationally), hotel projects and transactions, sale and leaseback operations, commercial leases, ground leases, total and general work contracts, real estate financing and structuring, due diligence procedures, environmental law and energy law. He advises clients in French, English and German.

Yves has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating property contracts, such as acquisition contracts. He advises Swiss and foreign clients on various contractual matters. He also handles litigation and arbitration within these fields. Yves is a member of several professional associations, in particular a member of the Advisory Board of the Royal Institutions of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in Switzerland.

Yves' recent expertise includes: counsel to the International Labour Organization for the negotiation and the sale of a plot of land to the Steiner Investment Foundation; counsel to Patrizia for the sale to an UBS Investment Foundation of the retail center Poya in Fribourg, Switzerland; counsel to Bouygues Construction for the acquisition of the engineering services business of Alpiq (building technology, transportation, power & heat services, industrial plants and nuclear decommissioning).

Yves was admitted to the Swiss Bar in 1987 after graduating from the School of Law of the University of Zurich in 1983 and earning a Master of Laws from Northwestern University School of Law in 1985. Yves is a founding partner of Schellenberg Wittmer.
