Young Suk Park is the Chair of the International Arbitration Practice Group at KL Partners. He has a broad and diversified experience in both international arbitration and cross-border litigation, including representations in high-stake ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, such as with the ICC, SIAC, KCAB, HKIAC, NAI, ZCC and DIAC. He has also been involved in multiple investment treaty disputes under the ICSID Convention and NAFTA.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Park had the opportunity to expand his experience to beyond the legal sector as the Executive Director of the Investment Committee at Atinum Partners, a Korean investment house, being directly involved in investments encompassing sectors, such as energy, natural resources, real estate, buy-outs, start-ups and public equity. At the time he also founded and chaired the Arbitration Committee for the In-house Counsel Forum in Korea, a non-profit organization aiming to promote the legal education of its around 1,800 in-house counsel members.
Mr. Park started his career at Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice Group, to later join its partnership prior to entering the investment sector after a decade of private practice.
Mr Park also serves on the Commercial Arbitration Support-Committee of the Korea Federation of SMEs, the Executive Committee of the Korean Council International Arbitration and as a faculty member for institutions such as the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy.
