Yoshihiro Kai is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune with rich experience in the areas of crisis management and corporate compliance and has conducted many internal investigations for companies in white-collar crimes such as anti-bribery, anti-money laundering and corporate fraud.
Mr Kai worked as a public prosecutor for 17 years and conducted criminal investigations and trials in various criminal cases including white-collar crimes. He was seconded to government ministries such as the Criminal Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice, the Financial Services Agency, and the Cabinet Legislative Bureau; he also has experience in enacting legislation and taking administrative actions.
Mr Kai is a graduate of the University of Tokyo (LLB, 1989) and Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law (LLM, 1996). He is admitted to the bar in Japan. He is a member of the Japan branch of Transparency International. He is the author of the Japan chapters of Getting the Deal Through: Anti-Money Laundering, Getting the Deal Through: Anti-Corruption Regulation and Getting the Deal Through: Government Investigations (Law Business Research) and has various other publications to his credit.
