Wayne Clark is a prominent figure in the Middle East who draws high praise for his exceptional expertise in international infrastructure disputes.
Wayne is a chartered quantity surveyor, arbitrator and mediator with over 40 years of international experience, having worked in the capacity of consultant to the client, contractor and sub-contractor on major building and infrastructure projects across three continents; Africa, Europe and Asia.
His project experience includes airports, hospitals, commercial and industrial developments, residential (high rise and housing), education facilities, oil refineries, highways, bridges, tunnels and underground railways, including deep stations and immersed tunnels.
For the past 25 years, Wayne has focused on contract administration, dispute and risk management, in particular dispute avoidance. His primary role in dispute management is case managing arbitration and court cases. In undertaking contract management tasks, Wayne's main function is advising on, and participating in, settlement negotiations for claims and disputes, guiding clients towards sensible and clear communication, nurturing relationships and seeking early solutions to problems with the primary goal of avoiding unnecessary conflict.
Wayne has been appointed as arbitrator, mediator and expert on various international construction disputes. He has been cross-examined as a quantum expert on several occasions and has acted as a co-arbitrator and sole arbitrator on separate arbitration cases in Doha, under the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) Rules of Arbitration.
Wayne sits on the QICCA Panel of arbitrators, adjudicators, mediators and experts, as well as on the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) panel of adjudicators. He is also a prolific industry lecturer and author.
