Biography

Dr Tobias Wuttke is heading the litigation department of Meissner Bolte, one of Germany's leading law firms specialising in patents. He obtained his degree in law from the renowned Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg. For several years, Tobias was the personal assistant to the presiding judge of the German Federal Supreme Court, Prof Dr Bornkamm (intellectual property division, retired).

Tobias has an outstanding track record and handles over 50 patent trial court cases per year. He represents blue chips as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in domestic as well as cross-border litigation cases in all technical fields (eg, Deutsche Telekom AG in the telecommunication sector, Sika Technology AG in the chemical field, Greif International Holding BV in mechanical engineering cases, ITW, Inc in  software related patent disputes, Opko Health in SPC-cases). His focus is on high-profile litigation cases and the development of strategies on how to maximise protection for innovations and how to successfully exploit these innovations in an ever-increasing competitive environment. In this regard, Tobias frequently negotiates complex licence and R&D agreements.

Tobias is a frequent speaker at IP conferences organised by the most relevant institutions in the patent field, eg, the European and German Patent Office, LES, VPP and VDI. He delivers lectures together with the most renowned patent judges in Europe. Last but not least, Tobias is the author of numerous publications related to patent litigation.
