Dr Thomas A Frick is a senior partner in the banking, finance and regulatory department, and heads the fintech desk of Niederer Kraft Frey.
He has vast experience in supporting clients effectively in their business projects and is recognised for both his deep knowledge of the law and his entrepreneurial approach to finding tailor-made solutions for his clients. He advices on a regular basis Swiss and international banks and other enterprises, in particular in the finance industry and in trade-related matters. His focus is on regulatory, contractual and trade finance matters. A focus of his practice is dedicated to fintech projects including ICOs; security token offerings; setting up trading platforms, cryptobrokers and cryptofunds; and raising capital for cryptoprojects.
Thomas A Frick is a board member of several Swiss banks and other companies and a member of various professional associations, including the Crypto Valley Association, the Capital Markets and Technology Association, and others.
He is the editor of the Financial Technology Law Review; a regular publisher on fintech, financial markets law and competition law issues; a lecturer on the LLM programme of Zurich University; and a regular speaker at the European Law Academy.
Thomas A Frick graduated from Zurich University (1992) with a doctoral degree and was admitted to the Zurich Bar in 1992. He obtained an LLM from the London School of Economics (1994) and a fintech certificate from MIT in 2016. He worked in law firms in Cape Town and Brussels, and with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and has been a partner with Niederer Kraft Frey since 2001.
