Takeshi Suzuki is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune. He specialises in competition law advice including Japanese and multi-jurisdictional merger filings, domestic and international cartel defence, and distribution matters.
Prior to joining Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Takeshi was engaged in a number of M&A transactions and competition matters (including cartel defence, merger control, joint ventures and unfair trade practices) at a leading UK law firm, and also gained experience of EU competition law practice while working in Brussels. Takeshi also worked for approximately two years at the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC). During his time at the JFTC, Takeshi was involved in reviewing a large amount of merger filings as a chief case handler.
With this background, Takeshi is able to provide domestic and international clients with practical advice in complex merger cases, enabling them to have clear views on their prospects of clearance and filing schedules at the early stages of an M&A transaction. Takeshi has extensive experience in various industries including steel; chemicals; pharmaceuticals and medical devices; aviation; electric devices; semiconductors; automobile; energy; media and entertainment; consumer goods; logistics; finance; and real estate.

He speaks Japanese and English. He graduated from the University of Kyoto in 2006.
