Takeshi Suzuki is a partner at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune. He specialises in competition law advice including Japanese and multi-jurisdictional merger filings, domestic and international cartel defence and distribution matters.
Prior to joining Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Takeshi was engaged in a number of M&A transactions and competition matters including advice on cartel defence, merger control, joint venture and unfair trade practices at a leading UK law firm and has also gained experience of EU competition law practice while working in Brussels. Takeshi also worked for approximately two years at the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC). During his time at the JFTC, Takeshi was involved in the reviewing of a large amount of merger filings as a chief case handler.
With this background, Takeshi provides domestic and international clients with practical advice in complex merger cases, by which his clients can have clear views on prospects of clearance and filing schedule at the early stage of M&A transaction. Takeshi has extensive experience in the steel, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, aviation, electric devices, semiconductors, automobile, energy, media and entertainment, consumer goods, logistics, finance and real estate industries.
Takeshi has published on Japanese merger control issues and is a contributor to multiple competition law publications such as Global Competition Review: Information Exchange and Getting The Deal Through: Private Antitrust Litigation.
He speaks Japanese and English. He graduated from the University of Kyoto in 2006.
