Biography

Slava is a Partner and the Global Head of DWF's Energy Sector based in the Dubai office. He is a solicitor advocate who advises on dispute avoidance and resolution of energy, construction and infrastructure matters throughout the MENA region.

He has a particular specialism in EPC contracts related to processing plants, power, refining and large civil infrastructure in the Middle East. Slava is also experienced in pricing disputes and has represented clients in multi-billion disputes relating to complex pricing formulae. He is a trusted advisor to the oil and gas industry and works with NOCs, IOCs and service providers on legal matters related to operational and highly technical transactions.

Slava frequently works on international matters and disputes. His current practice spans from the Gulf of Mexico to the Sea of Japan. Additionally, he has advised and acted on matters in Iraq for over a decade.

Slava was previously the General Counsel of Lukoil in the Middle East focussing on all of Lukoil’s major oil & gas and EPC infrastructure projects. The Association of Corporate Counsel nominated him and his team as the Global Litigation Team of the Year 2016.

He has been recognised as a Next Generation Lawyer by Legal 500 in both Energy and Construction and is cited as having "an undisputed understanding of the energy and construction sectors generally, and EPC contracts for processing and refinery projects in particular."

Slava is the MENA Regional Director of the AIPN, one of the founders of the DMCC Energy Club and frequently presents on topics related to Oil and Gas and Power sectors.
