Simone Di Ciero has specialised in aviation law for over 22 years, with a focus on tax matters, customs and regulatory cases.
Simone is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia; the Brazilian Society of Aeronautics Law; and the Swiss-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. She is also legal counsel of the Brazilian Institute for Strategic Studies and Public Policies on Air Transport.
Simone graduated in law in 1995 from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She is a lecturer on international treaties to avoid double taxation at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), and holds a postgraduate diploma in aeronautics law. She participates in international events held by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association, the International Air Transport Association, Latin America Aero and Defence, and Air Transport Research.
Simone is the founding partner of Di Ciero Advogados, one of the top law firms for everything aviation-related in Brazil – from legalising new airlines to day-to-day business issues including passenger claims, customs, labour, regulatory, tax and company law, social security, contracts, insurance and intellectual property cases.
Simone is the author of several publications on aviation in Latin America. She co-organised the aviation section for the “Doing Business in Brazil” review of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce (2008).
