Sigvard Jarvin has over 35 years' experience in international commercial arbitration as arbitrator and counsel, and has argued before numerous tribunals all over the world.
He was general counsel of the ICC Court of International Arbitration, Paris (1982-1987) and member of the Court (1988-1995).
He was an associate at the Law Offices of SG Archibald; partner of Lagerlöf & Leman, and of counsel at Jones Day. Since 2014 he has practised international arbitration as independent practitioner and arbitrator.
Sigvard holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Stockholm.
He served as arbitrator and counsel in some 260 international arbitrations under a variety of national legal systems, as well as under the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
Sigvard was editor-in-chief of the Stockholm International Arbitration Review (JurisPublishing, New York) 1999-2007 and contributor to the yearly ICC arbitration chronicle in Journal du Droit International (Lexis Nexis, Paris, 1983-2011).
He was vice president of the ICC International Centre for Expertise (2013-2015).
He is the co-author, with Corinne Nguyen, of the Compendium of International Commercial Arbitration Forms (Wolters Kluwer, 2017).
He is regularly listed as a leading lawyer in international arbitration in various publications, such as Chambers and WWL.
