With over 30 years' experience in administrative law, Siaska Lorenzo cements her place as a go-to practitioner with expansive knowledge of public bids and labour issues.
Siaska is the managing partner of Arias’ Panama office, with over 32 years’ experience of practising law.
Siaska is an expert in labour law; telecommunications; energy; public bids; and administrative law, and other related matters.
She drafted the first telecoms law for Panama and its Regulation, both of which are still in effect.
From 2005 to 2009 she was editor-in-chief (the first woman appointed to the role) of the Panamanian newspaper La Prensa. After working in the newsroom, she went back to practise law and joined Arias in 2011.
She was the second Panamanian accepted at Harvard Law School, where she obtained a master’s degree (LLM, 1988); and bachelor’s degree in law and political science (summa cum laude) from USMA in Panama (1987).
Siaska serves as neutral arbitrator for the ICDR at the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and acts as hearing officer for National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM). She is a certified arbitrator in Panama and a certified public translator (English to Spanish).
