Rainer is a partner at Kantenwein Zimmermann Spatscheck & Partner, based in Munich. Prior to joining Kantenwein Zimmermann Spatscheck & Partner in 2018, Rainer was a partner at Streck Mack Schwedhelm, Tax Specialists PartmbB for more than 20 years.
Due to his knowledge and experience as a criminal tax lawyer, Rainer is regularly recommended in all kinds of criminal tax proceedings. Furthermore, he represents clients before tax courts and the federal tax court in Munich on tax litigation cases. Rainer also has broad experience in advising clients regarding the preparation and filing of voluntary disclosures and correction letters.

Rainer studied law at the Universities of Tuebingen, Munich, Lausanne und Chicago. After that, he was an associate with Streck Mack Schwedhelm, Tax Specialists PartmbB for four years. He received his doctorate degree in 1996.
As a lawyer specialised in criminal tax law and tax law, he has held lectures at numerous special tax/criminal conferences and is the author of several publications. Currently he is a lecturer in criminal tax law at the University of Augsburg.
Rainer is also chairman of the criminal legislative committee of the German Bar Association and presiding judge at the Bavarian Lawyer’s Court. Besides this, he is a member of the advisory board of DATEV eG.
