Rahul Guha is the former co-heads of Cornerstone Research’s antitrust and competition practice and is the former head ofounded the firm’s f its life sciences practice. He has led the firm’s work on numerous antitrust and competition, intellectual property, securities, product misrepresentation and breach of contract cases, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical industry.
Dr Guha has worked with attorneys on all phases of the litigation process and prepared experts for deposition and trial. He has analysed competition issues and served as a testifying expert on several matters involving pharmaceuticals. His experience includes analysis of product and geographic market definition for over-the-counter drugs, prescription drugs and physician services. He has also addressed tying allegations and analysed the competitive effects of alleged sham litigation, exclusive supply arrangements, reverse-payment settlements and life cycle management in pharmaceutical markets.
Dr Guha has conducted market definition and competitive effects analyses in online advertising, industrial equipment and credit card markets. He also has extensive experience with cases involving marketing issues, where he has conducted consumer surveys and rigorous econometric analyses to compute damages.
Dr Guha has published articles on competition and intellectual property issues in pharmaceutical and biologic drug markets and spoken on these topics at numerous conferences. He has also taught graduate-level courses at Cornell University, Dartmouth College and the Indian School of Business.
