Georges is a barrister with extensive experience in international arbitration. Prior to transferring to the Bar, he qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (2008-2010) and practised as an associate in the firm's international arbitration group (2010-2014). 

He has acted as counsel in a large number of commercial and investment treaty arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, UNCITRAL and ICSID rules. He also accepts arbitrator appointments. His experience includes disputes in the finance, energy, telecommunications and pharmaceutical sectors, relating to projects in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Over the years, he has acted for, among others, Deutsche Bank, ConocoPhillips, Neste Oil, Eni, BP, Sonatrach, the Government of Egypt and AstraZeneca. He also has spent time on secondment to the legal team of ExxonMobil Corporation.

Georges is perfectly bilingual in French and English, and has studied English law (at the London School of Economics (LSE), French law (at Paris II Pantheon Assas) and Quebec law (at the University of Ottawa). He is currently co-teaching seminars on the practice of international arbitration to students on the Master of Laws programme at LSE.
