Who's Who Legal Arbitration: Expert Witnesses

Graham joined Haberman Ilett as director in 2017 and has over 25 years’ experience as a forensic accountant, most of which were at a Big Four firm. His main area of work is on damages and claims quantification in contractual claims, claims for breach of warranty and shareholder disputes.

Graham’s experience covers a broad spectrum of industry and commerce including disputes concerning electricity generation, steel making, construction, manufacturing, fixed and mobile telephone network operators, IT projects, broadcast media, insurance, financial services and sports disputes.

Graham’s experience covers a wide geography, with clients operating internationally and globally. He has given expert evidence at trial as well as assisting counsel in preparation for (and during the course of) hearings on a number of occasions. He has prepared written submissions, assisted with negotiations and made oral representations in cases settled by mediation, arbitration and expert determination.

Graham has over 25 years’ experience as a forensic accountant, most of which were at a Big Four firm. Graham joined Haberman Ilett in 2017.

He has given expert evidence at trial as well as assisting counsel in preparation for (and during the course of) hearings on a number of occasions. He has prepared written submissions, assisted with negotiations and made oral representations in cases settled by mediation, arbitration and expert determination.

Graham has prepared over 100 expert accountant reports, equally instructed by claimants and defendants. His experience spans a wide range of commercial disputes involving loss of profits, valuations, warranty claims, delivery delay and contractual disputes around construction and IT projects, and claims relating to patents and design rights. He has prepared valuation reports for public and private companies, divisions within public companies, partnerships, unincorporated businesses and investment portfolios in connection with, variously, shareholder disputes, warranty claims, the investigation of alleged transactions with directors at an undervalue and matrimonial settlements.  

Graham has also been instructed on cases concerning the accounting recognition of revenues and costs; in particular, the allocation of overheads between products, activities and divisions. Additionally, Graham has acted in cases of professional negligence, criminal prosecutions, personal injury and fatal accident claims and in a number of Lands Tribunal matters.
