Who's Who Legal Competition: Future Leaders - Partners

Rachel Adcox is a standout among antitrust practitioners, whether leading clients through complex multidistrict litigation cases or negotiating successful resolutions to criminal and civil matters. Most recently, Ms Adcox’s work as lead counsel for multiple defendants in the Auto Parts class action MDL was nominated for Global Competition Review’s 2018 Litigation of the Year – Cartel Defence award, which recognises “creative, strategic, and innovative litigation on behalf of a defendant in a private action for cartel damages". In the sprawling Auto Parts litigation, in which dozens of defendants paid billions of dollars in settlements, Ms Adcox’s clients paid only a small fraction of their admitted volume of commerce, comparable only to the 2014 ice-breaker settlement.

This and other groundbreaking work demonstrates the trust that Ms Adcox’s clients place in her skill and judgement. A former trial attorney at the US Department of Justice antitrust division, Ms Adcox’s unique combination of government and defence-side experience allows her to assist clients with a full range of antitrust issues, including corporate counselling, mergers, internal investigations, civil non-merger and criminal cartel investigations and litigation. Behind the scenes, Ms Adcox is a trusted confidential adviser and advocate in international cartel and compliance matters before domestic and international enforcers.

Ms Adcox is also a sought-after international speaker and panellist, addressing a range of audiences – from attendees of the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting in Washington to the Japanese Association of Corporate Legal Departments in Tokyo. A recognised leader of both her profession and her firm, Ms Adcox was included in the Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2017 list of “Women Worth Watching 2017”. She is on the Law360 competition editorial advisory board and serves on Axinn Veltrop & Harkrider’s executive committee.

WWL says: Rachel Adcox is an outstanding practitioner who impresses with her “deep knowledge of US antitrust practice”.
