Who's Who Legal Business Crime Defence: Individuals

Joanna C Hendon is named by Chambers and Partners as a leader in the field of white-collar crime and government investigations. Sources quoted in Chambers describe her as an “‘off-the-charts brilliant’ attorney whose ‘ability to take charge and put you at ease’ is regarded by clients as an ‘incredible’ asset”. Ms Hendon is said to “field an impressive string of recent victories in criminal cases, including at the appellate level”.

On 11 April 2018, Ms Hendon began representing Donald J Trump, the president of the United States, in Michael D Cohen v United States, a preliminary injunction litigation arising from the execution of search warrants by the US Department of Justice for the office, residence and effects of Michael D Cohen, the president’s former attorney.

In 2017, Ms Hendon defended at trial in the Southern District of New York a financial adviser accused of securities fraud and other crimes arising from the manipulation of the market for certain low-priced securities. In 2011, Ms Hendon defended at trial the first of the “expert network” insider trading cases brought to trial in the Southern District of New York.
