Who's Who Legal Competition: Future Leaders - Partners

Jeny Maier has comprehensive experience advising clients in all facets of antitrust law. She regularly advises parties to large M&A transactions on international antitrust notification requirements and substantive competition issues.

Recent representative M&A experience includes securing unconditional clearance from the US Department of Justice for McKesson's US$3.4 billion healthcare technology joint venture with Change Healthcare; assisting Dell in achieving clearance in 18 jurisdictions around the world in its US$67 billion acquisition of EMC; representing Johnson Controls International in the US$2 billion sale of its Scott Safety business to 3M and securing clearance for Stanley Black & Decker in its US$900 million purchase of the Craftsman brand from Sears Holdings.

Jeny also has considerable experience assisting clients with responding to civil and criminal antitrust investigations and defending class-action litigation. In addition to M&A and litigation, Jeny counsels clients on a broad range of antitrust issues relating to pricing practices, distribution and marketing arrangements, intellectual property license agreements and standard-setting activities.

In her years of practice, she has worked closely with clients across a broad range of industries, with particular experience in the technology, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare and pharmaceutical fields.

Before joining Axinn, Jeny spent 10 years in the antitrust practice at Morrison & Foerster. Prior to that, she served as a legal intern for the Federal Trade Commission, Bureau of Competition and for the US Department of Justice antitrust division (national criminal enforcement section).

Jeny was previously named a "bright rising star" in the area of antitrust law by The Legal 500. She serves as a member of the young lawyers' advisory panel for the ABA antitrust section’s civil practice and procedure committee and is a regular contributor to its Perspectives in Antitrust publication.

WWL says: Jeny Maier is “a great competition lawyer” who is celebrated for her “knowledge and ability to provide clear and prescient insight into recent developments” in the field.
