Who's Who Legal Competition: Future Leaders - Partners

Nicolas Kredel is a member of Baker McKenzie’s antitrust and competition steering committee for the EMEA region, and chairs the firm's global automotive group. He also leads the firm’s global competition economics group.

He advises on all EU and German competition law matters, focusing on domestic and international cartel investigations as well as complex merger control proceedings. Nicolas routinely leads global projects in the area of international investigations, multi-jurisdictional transactions and antitrust risk prevention (compliance systems). He has in-depth experience in various industries, including automotive, telecommunications, FMCG/retail and healthcare.

Nicolas has more than 10 years of experience in antitrust and competition law. He has authored a number of books and articles on European and German competition law, and is recommended in various directories, including Chambers Global, The Legal 500 and JUVE. In 2018, Nicolas was awarded the ILO Client Choice Award for antitrust (Germany).

Nicolas serves on the advisory board of the Forschungsinstituts für Wirtschaftsverfassung und Wettbewerb (FIW), a key think tank on antitrust and competition in Germany.

Nicolas studied at the universities of Bonn, Lausanne and Munich. He holds a doctorate degree (Dr. iur, s.c.l.) from the University of Munich and an LLM degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He is a member of the German Association of Antitrust Lawyers and the American Bar Association.
