Michał Jochemczak is a partner in the Warsaw office of Dentons and the head of its arbitration practice group. Michał is also a core member of the dispute resolution practice group.

He specialises in complex arbitration and litigation. He has represented clients in arbitrations under the leading arbitration rules (ICC, VIAC, LCIA) and in ad hoc domestic and international arbitration. He often appears before Polish courts as well.

Michał has extensive experience in advising clients on numerous high-profile and international disputes, both commercial and investment treaty, related to a variety of industry sectors, particularly oil and gas, energy, construction, infrastructure, and real estate. He advises clients on international civil law issues and has significant experience in the fields of jurisdiction, enforcement of judgments and conflict of laws. Michał also provides legal advice to creditors, management and shareholders in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. He has in-depth experience in corporate matters as well as in procedural issues of competition law.

Michal also sits as an arbitrator. He received his first appointment in international arbitration under the ICC Rules at the age of 30.

He was also one of the core members of the ad hoc committee drafting the new Rules of Arbitration of the Lewiatan Arbitration Court.

He is the co-author of the Poland chapter of The International Arbitration Review (2017–2018) and of “Remedying breaches of representations and warranties – English and Polish Law perspectives” in 40 under 40 International Arbitration (2018).

Michał has been recognised as a Future Leader (WWL, 2018–2019) and a Dispute Resolution Star (Benchmark Litigation, 2019). He is also recommended in dispute resolution by Chambers Global and Chambers Europe, and The Legal 500.
