Who's Who Legal Mediation

Dual qualified in England and Wales, and also in New York, Kate has over 20 years of dispute resolution experience, previously practising as a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer in London (with Allen & Overy LLP) and in New York (with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP).

CEDR-accredited in 2005, Kate now practises solely as a commercial mediator, with a thriving practice encompassing a broad range of commercial, banking, insurance, intellectual property, employment, private client, property and professional negligence disputes.

Kate is commercial and numerate and (in addition to her commercial practice) is known to have specialist expertise in the banking and financal sector. She has spent two periods working as a lawyer in investment banks (six months with Morgan Stanley’s New York in-house institutional securities litigation team and two months with Barclays’ corporate and investment banking litigation team).

Published independent legal directory comments state that “first-rate mediator” Kate Jackson is “the ideal mediator for complex disputes, bridging unbridgeable gaps without clients feeling pressured”, and that Kate is considered “charming, hardworking, and deft at bringing parties together”. They add that she also possesses the “appropriate emotional intelligence combined with intellectual rigour, and has a very measured style”, an “approachable and calm but firm” style, “willingness to go beyond clients’ expectations” and an ability to “convince parties to move on from their entrenched positions and historical grievances”.

WWL says: Kate Jackson has over 20 years' experience in dispute resolution and has successfully mediated disputes internationally across a variety of commercial sectors. She is widely regarded as a leading mediator in the field by peers, who describe her as “exceedingly good”.
