Armando Arias is the regional managing partner of the firm and specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, international commerce and contracting, banking law, fiscal planning and project finance. He has been heavily involved in numerous leading litigations and arbitrations that have been successfully concluded. He has also participated in local and multinational transactions, such as joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance, including some of the most complex transactions in the region. In 2004/2005 he advised several business groups for the negotiations of the free trade agreement (CAFTA) between the United States and Central American countries.

He was a professor of commercial law at Dr José Matías Delgado University in El Salvador. In 1995, he was admitted as Higher Member of the Interamerican Bar Association. He is past president of the American Chamber of Commerce of El Salvador and the Salvadoran Banking Association (ABANSA).

He has a doctorate degree from El Salvador University and studied economics at José Simeón Cañas Central American University. He attended the Program of Instructions for Lawyers at Harvard University and also has a finance certificate diploma from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
