Who's Who Legal Construction: Lawyers

Charles F Kenny is the co-managing partner of Peckar & Abramson's New Jersey office. His background is in construction contracts and legislation affecting the construction industry. He is the editor of the Peckar & Abramson Newsletter, a publication that is an invaluable source of reference for the construction industry.

Mr Kenny serves as counsel to the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey and served for many years as an adjunct professor in the department of engineering technology at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has published articles on the New Jersey construction lien law and other construction issues, and is the author of the chapter "Construction and Development" in Commercial Real Estate Transactions in New Jersey, published by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Mr Kenny is frequently a featured speaker and lecturer for that organisation, as well as for the Associated Construction Contractors.

Significant published decisions include: Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation v Dick Corporation, 293 F Supp 2d 336 (SDNY 2003); Craft v Stevenson Lumber Yard, Inc, 179 NJ 56 (2004); Labov Mechanical Inc v East Coast Power, LLC, 377 N J Super 240 (App. Div. 2005); Williams Scotsman, Inc v The Garfield Board of Education, 379 NJ Super 51 (App. Div. 2005); Benmore Construction Group v Herod Rutherford Developers, LLC, 2009 NJ Super Unpub. LEXIS 2874 (App. Div. 2009); L&H Construction Company, Inc v Circle Redmont, Inc, 55 So 3rd 630 (Florida 5th DCA 2011); Brockwell & Carrington Contractors, Inc v Dobco, Inc, 2013 WL 6800074 (NJ App. Div. 2013).

Mr Kenny is admitted to practise in the states of New Jersey and New York, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, as well as the New Jersey State Bar Association and its section on construction law, of which he served as chair. Mr Kenny received his bachelor of arts degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from Fordham Law School.
