Frédérique Bensahel has been a partner with FBT Attorneys-at-law since 1998. She is considered a leading Swiss lawyer in the banking and financial sector and is the head of FBT’s banking and finance group. For more than 25 years, she has been advising Swiss and foreign financial institutions, in particular banks, asset managers, broker dealers, as well as funds and fund managers on regulatory and contractual matters. She has extensive experience in all issues related to banking and finance regulations, investment management, financing and collective investment schemes and is familiar with cross border issues. Her activities also extend to financial litigation and regulatory proceedings. Frédérique is a member of STEP and has broad experience with private clients. She advises private banks, high-net worth individuals and family offices, among others. Frédérique has a deep and thorough knowledge of trusts and gives frequent advice thereto related. She has published a number of legal articles highly regarded by her peers and is regularly invited to give presentations at professional conferences on banking and financial issues.
From the time it was created in 1993, FBT Attorneys-at-law has been a privileged partner of some significant Swiss and international institutions in Geneva and elsewhere, acting both as legal adviser and advocate. From the outset, FBT Attorneys-at-law chose the path of specialisation and therefore opted for dividing into five highly specialised groups, banking and finance, corporate, tax, private clients and litigation, thus privileging expertise in these particular areas, in which FBT Attorneys-at-law is a leading law firm at the forefront of legal issues.
WWL says: Frédérique Bensahel is “very well-known in the market”. An expert in regulatory matters, her clients include a number of investment funds and fund managers.
