Gleiss Lutz partner Michael Arnold has particular experience in corporate law with a special focus on stock corporation law and corporate litigation. Additionally, Michael Arnold regularly assists German and international clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers and general corporate work.

Michael Arnold's work includes advising the supervisory boards of Volkswagen AG and AUDI AG – advice on emission matter/internal investigations; UniCredit Bank AG - advice and legal representation in civil proceedings in connection with so-called "cum/ex-transactions"; ZF Friedrichshafen on the carve-out and sale of its rubber and plastics business; Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank on the disposal of its 77.53 per cent share in Bank Austria to UniCredit and on the restructuring in Central and Eastern Europe; supervisory board of TUI AG on its merger with TUI Travel plc; Getrag in the acquisition of a 30 per cent share of Getrag by Dana Corp; Robert Bosch on cross-border merger within the Bosch group; and Merck KGaA on the intended €14.6 billion takeover of Schering AG, the largest unsolicited takeover bid in Germany of the last 12 years.
