Who's Who Legal Australia - Arbitration Expert Witnesses

Tony is the managing director of Sapere Forensic and leader of its forensic accounting and valuation group in Australasia. Between July 1998 and December 2005, Tony was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers – first in its forensic services practice in London and then with its dispute analysis and investigations practice in Sydney. Between 2006 and 2008, Tony led the forensic services practice in Asia Pacific for CRA International Limited.

Tony has been instructed as expert accountant and/or valuer for the purpose of providing expert opinions on accounting, valuation or damages issues in hundreds of cases since the late 1990s. Those matters include numerous international arbitrations, as well as domestic matters in the UK, the US, Singapore and Australia. He has provided oral testimony on approximately 60 occasions in numerous jurisdictions including Australia, the UK, Switzerland, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand.

Tony has provided evidence on accounting and valuation issues in France Telecom v Government of Lebanon, and on the value of businesses and brands in Philip Morris Asia Ltd v Commonwealth of Australia. He has been instructed in arbitrations run under UNCITRAL, ICC, ACICA, and SIAC rules. Prominent domestic matters include Motorola Credit Corporation and Nokia Corporation v Kemal Uzan, et al, in the Southern District of New York; and Orica Limited v Commissioner of Taxation in the Federal Court of Australia.

Tony is currently instructed as expert in approximately 100 proceedings, including several international arbitrations. He is supported by a senior team of accountants and valuers with over 150 years’ collective experience in accounting, valuations and damages.
