Florence Ninane is a partner in Allen & Overy LLP's Paris office. She has significant experience in the areas of French and European competition law (mergers, antitrust and state aid issues) and has developed a specific expertise in distribution law matters. She regularly assists companies with their French, EU and multi-jurisdictional merger notifications, and also represents companies in competition law litigation before competition authorities and national courts (in cartel investigations, abuse of dominance, state aid and private enforcement matters).

Florence’s particular areas of sector expertise include energy, finance, internet and consumer goods and she advises various operators in these areas. Her French and international clients include Amazon, BNP Paribas, Bose, Expedia, Pandora, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, SFR, TNT, Total and TripAdvisor.

Florence is recognised as a leading individual by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500, as well as by Who's Who LegalChambers Europe (2018) states: “'Charismatic lawyer' Florence Ninane is well regarded for her 'active' market presence, strong communication skills and 'good results'." Chambers Europe (2017) states “Florence Ninane offers impressive knowledge of French competition law and EU procedures. Florence has recently authored several articles in publications such as Revue Concurrences, as well as the French chapters in publications such as The International Comparative Legal Guide to Merger Control and Getting the Deal Through. She is the author of the Lamy Economique 2018 chapter on access to evidence in private action cases. She is a frequent speaker at antitrust conferences and seminars.

Florence is a member of French competition associations (APDC and board member of AFEC) and of the French Association of Energy Law.

Florence received her postgraduate degree in business law and a DJCE degree (counsel in commercial law) from the University of Paris II, Panthéon Assas, in 1997. She obtained a postgraduate degree in comparative European law from the University of Nancy II in 1996. She was admitted to the Haut-de-Seine Bar in 1999 and to the Paris Bar in 2001.
