Olubunmi Fayokun is a partner at Aluko & Oyebode and heads the firm's capital markets and M&A practices. She represents top-tier indigenous, international and multinational clients in various sectors, including banking, energy and natural resources, power, insurance, mining, aviation, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.

Olubunmi has advised on several high-profile capital market and M&A transactions, including: the US$300 million eurobond issuance by Access Bank Plc; the Nigerian aspects of the US$8.1 billion sale by Unilever Plc of its margarines and spreads business to KKR & Co; and the sale by Exxon Mobil Oil Corporation of its 60 per cent equity stake in Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc to Nipco Plc. She is currently advising on a variety of innovative capital market transactions, including an IPO in the aviation sector; the establishment of debt issuance programmes by leading Nigerian commercial and merchant banks; and the demutualisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Olubunmi graduated from the University of Ife in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in law. She was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1985 and is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and the Capital Market Solicitors' Association.

Olubunmi is a council member of the Nigerian Bar Association section on business law and has served on various committees established by the Securities and Exchange Commission to promote the development of the Nigerian capital market. She played a key role in the establishment of the Nigerian Association of Securities Dealers’ over-the-counter market.
