Who's Who Legal Switzerland - Banking

Dr Stefan Breitenstein is managing partner of Lenz & Staehelin in Zurich since 2015. He has a broad private client, corporate, banking and finance practice. He advises regularly on international and domestic transactions, including, in particular, financial regulatory matters. Stefan Breitenstein is co-chairman of the banking law practice group of the Zurich Bar Association.

Stefan Breitenstein graduated (1983) and completed his doctoral thesis (1987) at the University of Zurich. He holds a Diplôme des Hautes Etudes Européennes from the College of Europe in Bruges (1984) as well as an LLM from Harvard Law School (1988). Admitted to the Zurich Bar (1986), Stefan Breitenstein joined Lenz & Staehelin in 1989 and has been a partner since 1994. He speaks German, English and French.

Stefan Breitenstein is a member of the following professional associations: International Bar Association (IBA, former co-chair of the sub committee on banking regulation) and the secretary of the Swiss Society of International Law (SVIR).
