Audrey Chen joined JunHe in 1993, she is a senior partner of the firm. Ms Chen previously worked in New York office of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue.

Ms Chen has been at the forefront of many leading competition cases including the merger control filings, major international cartel investigations and litigations.

Ms Chen’s M&A practice provides her extensive experience across a broad range of sectors including energy and natural resources, manufacturing, retails, pharmaceutical, education, media, tourism, food and beverages, agriculture and hi-tech. She has worked with many Chinese and international clients from the above sectors in merger control filings for their merger acquisitions in and out of China (from over a decade ago the proposed JV of BHPB and Rio Tinto, recently Mercuria’s acquisition of JPMorgan’s commodities trading business, to the latest acquisition of HVO by Glencore plc, the overseas acquisitions of Trinity and the apparel/advanced textile business of INVISTA Equities, LLC by the Chinese textile and apparel group SRG, etc), and provided strategical planning and advice for cartel investigations, leniency applications, antitrust issues on distribution, IP licensing and related litigations (Ms Chen played a leading role for the first few cartel investigations in China initiated by NDRC by helping international clients to exempt and reduce fines in NDRC’s antitrust investigations and penalties, under which involved 12 auto part/bearing companies, eight international Ro-Ro cargo shipping companies and dozens of container shipping companies).

Ms Chen received her LLM from UC Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall) and Renmin University of China, she was admitted to practise law in China, the State of New York and the State of California

She was on the board of Lex Mundi and was the director of the board, she also served as the jurisdictional council member for China for the Inter-Pacific Bar Association

In addition to being a well-known competition lawyer in China, Ms Chen has led many high-profile M&A and cross-border transactions representing international and domestic Chinese companies for their outbound and investments. Ms Chen was also awarded as a “leading attorney” and a “top 10 M&A lawyer” by Asia Legal Business and Who’s Who Legal: Mergers & Acquisition.
