 Pierre-Jean Douvier possesses decades of experience in international taxation and matters surrounding corporate tax management.

Biography

Pierre-Jean joined CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocatsin 1986, and was co-opted as equity partner in 1991. He was formerly with Coopers & Lybrand (1981-1984) and Ernst & Whinney (1984-1986).

He co-leads the international department and has 30 years’ specialist experience in transfer pricing and private clients. His other practice areas are cross-border transactions (including M&A), financing, refinancing, restructuring, financial leasing, and European and international taxation. He also advises private clients on legal and tax regimes, including family law (international aspects), immigration law, assets protection, wealth transfer techniques, inheritance, assets protection and separation of assets, matrimonial status, real property investments, the impact of trusts within civil jurisdictions, tax audit protection and litigation.

Pierre-Jean is a member of the French Institute of Tax Lawyers(IACF), the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). He is honorary vice president of the IBA trusts committee of the IBA and a member of STEP France.

He lectures on international taxation at the University of Paris II – Assas. He has authored several publications edited by the IBFD (including The Regime of Partnerships and The Regime of Permanent Establishments), Editions Francis Lefebvre (including Monaco Tax and Legal Guide and Prix de Transfert) and Option Finance magazine. He is a correspondent for International Transfer Pricing Journal

Pierre-Jean is domiciled and based in Monaco, where he has a licence of counsel in international taxation.

He holds a master's degree in business law from the University of Paris II Assas (1981) and graduated from the ESLSCA Business School (1979).

A native French speaker, he is fluent in English and German, and speaks some Italian.
