Philipp Haberbeck is a stalwart of the Swiss market, with peers describing him as "a creative thinker, who is capable of thinking out of the box in order to find solutions and obtain the best possible result for his clients".
In 1996, Dr Philipp H Haberbeck completed his bilingual (German/French) studies at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, with a Master of Law degree (lic iur utr; magna cum laude). In 1998, he was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich; and in 2017, he obtained a PhD (Dr iur) from the University of Lucerne. Before founding his own law firm at the beginning of 2016, he practised for 20 years in renowned companies as an external lawyer/in-house counsel. He has been publishing in peer-reviewed legal journals on, in particular, various commercial disputes-related topics.
Since 1998, Dr Haberbeck has been dealing as an external/in-house counsel with commercial disputes in Switzerland and on Switzerland-related matters, from small commercial litigations before Swiss state courts to very important international commercial arbitrations before arbitral tribunals seated in Switzerland. In his career, he has dealt with commercial disputes related to, for example, private banking; asset management; foreign exchange trading; large infrastructure projects; mergers and acquisitions; and industry and trade.
Since early 2016, Dr Haberbeck has advised and represented companies and individuals in commercial law matters as a solo attorney with his own law firm.
Dr Haberbeck is a member of the Swiss Bar Association, the Zurich Bar Association and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA).
