Biography

Paul Walker is a senior managing director and leader of the technology segment for FTI Consulting in EMEA, and has over 20 years of experience in technology consulting, building and leading practices at some of the biggest consulting firms in the world.

Paul works with clients in complex cross-border matters on a range of issues including compliance, remediation, regulatory, disputes and financial crime. His experience includes fraud investigations, economic sanctions, internal and external cyber breach, and licence and intellectual property compliance, all from a technology perspective.

Paul has a keen interest in developing new and innovative solutions for clients, using the very latest tools and techniques, and in so doing working closely with the vendor community. As a result, Paul has developed a wide range of sector experience including financial services, life sciences, telecommunications, automotive, and government and the public sector.

Over the past three years Paul has worked extensively in the Middle East, assisting seven banks exposed to US regulatory sanctions violations. Supported by a team of experts in both structured and unstructured data analytics, they were able to combine banking and digital expertise focusing on possible economic sanctions at the request of regulators including the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Council of the EU and the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). This involved working closely with external counsel, and enabling the client banks to respond to the resulting criminal and civil government inquiries and, in so doing, mitigate the resulting fines from non-compliance.
