Dr Sincock is the technical director of AMOG Consulting.
Dr Sincock has 40 years' experience in structural and offshore engineering, naval architecture, hydrodynamics, and bulk materials handling for mining machinery and other equipment. This has been gained consulting on projects in the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, South East Asia, South America, Africa, India, Gulf of Arabia, and Australia.
Dr Sincock has considerable expertise in forensic failure investigation and expert witness studies. He has investigated issues involving contract disputes and quantum claims including contract performance and variation disputes, design errors, shortcomings in design approach and deficiencies in quality assurance, fabrication and installation errors, structural failures due to overloading and fatigue damage, crew injuries due to vessel motions, inappropriate operating practices, failure to correctly assess environmental conditions and resulting loads, and patent disputes.
Studies have ranged in scope from problems involving mining industry machinery, process equipment and chemical plants, to offshore structures (fixed and floating), high-speed military vessels, and commercial shipping and harbour installations.
He has taken the lead preparing expert reports arising from these investigations, taken part in expert conclaves and arbitration proceedings, been a consultant expert to counsel, provided expert testimony in court, including the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Federal Court of Australia. Dr Sincock has extensive experience in providing technical liaison with clients and their legal representatives.
Dr Sincock holds a Bachelor of Science (mechanical engineering), Master of Science (ocean engineering), and a Doctor of Philosophy (ocean engineering) where his research concentrated on numerical modelling of the non-linear motions of compliant and floating offshore vessels.
