Patrick Lafranchi applies “decades of immense experience” as a “world-class arbitrator” to resolve complex sports disputes.
He provides advisory and procedural services to national and international clients, primarily in the areas of sports, corporate and contract law, as well as criminal law (white-collar crime and medical). He acts as an arbitrator and represents parties on domestic and international arbitration and in state courts.
He represents national and international sports associations, officials and athletes as well as companies in the field of sports.
His experience includes acting as arbitrator in international commercial and sport matters; providing advice on, inter alia, sponsoring agreements, doping matters, transfers of football and ice hockey players, disciplinary proceedings and legal issues relating to federations and clubs.
Since 2001, Patrick Lafranchi has been a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and was part of the CAS ad hoc chamber at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.
Patrick Lafranchi is also a member of the Swiss Association for Sports Law (ASDS) board; the sports law committee of the Swiss Bar Association; the International Association for Football Lawyers (AIAF); and the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA).
Due to his background as a former active athlete, lawyer and arbitrator of the CAS, he has a proven national and international network of business contacts in the field of sports.
