Orcun Cetinkaya is partner at Cetinkaya in Istanbul, a full-service law firm with distinguished dispute resolution capabilities including international commercial and investment arbitration, and related court proceedings and ADR.
For the past 20 years, his practice focused on commercial dispute resolution including international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as disputes under public international law. He is presently handling disputes under rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) and UNCITRAL.
As a practitioner based in Turkey, his arbitration practice often involves cases in connection with Turkish foreign investments in the region including Eastern Europe, Russia and the former CIS region, Middle East and North Africa. He also represents foreign clients in relation to enforcement of arbitral awards in Turkey.
Orcun has acted for international institutions, national governments, international companies and Turkish conglomerates. He has particular experience in a number of substantive areas. These include handling disputes related to joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, energy, construction and engineering, textile insurance and reinsurance, intellectual property, telecommunications, international trade, and public international law.
He writes and speaks regularly on topics relevant to international arbitration, mediation and resolution of cross-border disputes. He is a graduate of the University of Ankara and the University of Nottingham.
