Olena Omelchenko is a partner and the head of international trade practice at Ilyashev & Partners. Olena has over 18 years’ substantial experience related to WTO rules, trade protection, applying for regional preferential arrangements, export controls and sanctions, customs regulation and adaptation of Ukrainian laws to EU legislation, anti-dumping, safeguard and anti-subsidy investigations in Ukraine and abroad.
Prior to working for Ilyashev & Partners, Olena was a member of the negotiations group on preparation of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as free trade agreements between Ukraine and Canada, Turkey, Serbia and other states. She participated in numerous international trade negotiations. In 2015 Olena was an adviser to the minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine.
Olena enjoys the reputation as a top-three individual for international trade, trade remedies and WTO in Ukraine. Olena is a member of the council on international trade at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. She heads the working group on external trade at the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC).
