Octavio Amat is a senior figure at the firm who can deploy 45 years’ experience on behalf of clients involved in complex commercial litigation.
Octavio Amat joined ARIFA in 1974 and became a partner in 1984.
At present, Mr Amat is the senior partner of the firm and chairman of its executive committee. He is co-head of the firm’s litigation and arbitration practice group, concentrating his outstanding litigation practice in the areas of commercial and civil matters, as well as administrative cases and taxation.
Mr Amat has held the positions of editor of El Panama America, a daily newspaper (1994–2006), and alternate judge of the First Appellate Court of Justice, civil branch (1990-2000).
Mr Amat completed his LLB at the University of Panama (1974). He is admitted to the Bar in Panama.
