Nick Andrews has been a partner in the forensic and accounting market since 1998 and regularly acts as an expert witness in the High Court and in arbitrations. He was previously a forensic partner at a Big Four firm for 14 years, where he headed the dispute advisory practice.
Nick specialises in dispute work. He has acted as an expert accountant in over 200 cases in market sectors including: oil and gas, shipping, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, IT and high-technology, food and drink, finance, rail, contracting and construction and has given oral evidence on 20 occasions.
He has considerable experience of disputes arising from corporate acquisitions, including advising clients in completion accounts, earn-out and warranty disputes. He has also frequently been appointed as the independent expert responsible for determining issues between two parties in both transaction and non-transaction-related disputes. Being one of the leading practitioners, having acted in excess of 50 matters, he is mentioned in the standard legal work on expert determinations.
Nick has also undertaken a large number of business valuations in a dispute-related context including M&A, shareholder, joint venture, CPO and matrimonial disputes.
Nick has a degree in economics from Cambridge University and qualified as an accountant in 1984, specialising in forensic accounting since 1992.
He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, an accredited member of the Academy of Experts, a member of the Expert Witnesses Institute, a BDO-licensed valuer and a member of the ICAEW valuation group.
