Hengeler Mueller stands out as the top firm in corporate governance, with seven practitioners listed in this chapter.
Gerd Krieger is highly praised by peers as “an outstanding practitioner in the market”. He is experienced in representing both corporate and private clients regarding a range of matters including securities law, corporate restructuring and merger work.
Andreas Austmann receives widespread acclaim from respondents across the domestic market for his excellent work in advising listed companies on the full suite of governance matters.

Laurenz Wieneke is praised for his “fast responses and excellent market knowledge”. He is well versed in capital market transactions for issuers and underwriters, as well as advising on international M&A transactions.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer achieves four listings in this year’s research.   
Christoph Seibt is “a leading figure in the market” who commands over 20 years of experience advising company boards on a range of M&A transactions, restructurings and governance matters. 
Christoph von Bülow is highly commended by peers in the market for his excellent work advising investment banks and private equity firms on M&A, takeovers and other transactional matters.
Thomas Bücker draws praise for his “excellent work on transformation of stock corporations”.  His expertise lies in cross-border reorganisations, board liability matters and corporate litigation.
Andreas Fabritius is also highlighted by respondents for his work in directors’ liability matters, as well as public and private M&A.

Linklaters counts two of its practitioners listed this year.
