We are pleased to introduce Who’s Who Legal: Labour & Employment 2017, an in-depth guide to the world's leading labour and employment lawyers, featuring 1,051 lawyers from 542 firms around the world.

The top of the legal market reflects an increasingly international employment bar. US stalwarts Littler Mendelson, Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart and Proskauer Rose are the top three most highly rated firms in our research. They are followed by UK employment specialists Lewis Silkin, international full-service firm Baker McKenzie and Spanish outfit J&A Garrigues.

Herzog Fox & Neeman retains its position as Israel’s premier labour and employment law firm. In Africa, ENSafrica and Bowmans in South Africa do particularly well, alongside Indian firms Trilegal and Nishith Desai Associates.

In Asia, Deacons in Hong Kong and Lee & Ko in Seoul field an impressive array of lawyers. In Australia, Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Clayton Utz continue to make up a sizeable proportion of Australia’s employment experts.

Latin America sees regional powerhouse Marval O'Farrell & Mairal leading the pack, with stiff competition from smaller outfits Funes de Rioja & Asociados in Argentina and Munita & Olavarría in Chile.

Leading Firms 

Who's Who Legal does not list law firms, only individual lawyers. The leading firms are those in each region whose listed practitioners received the most total nominations in our research.

LEWIS SILKIN’s labour and employment practice, which comprises 42 per cent of the firm’s entire body of work, is the most highly nominated European firm in our research. In its London office, 14 lawyers from are listed, with one additional practitioner listed in Oxford and another in Wales.
Michael Burd is one of the most highly nominated practitioners in our research. He specialises in employment and partnership law, particularly the resolution of high-level disputes. His practice has an international reach and he is described by one peer as “one of the best practitioners of employment law I have seen”.
James Davies advises employers in both large and small companies alongside partnerships and LLPs. He is recognised as one of the leading lawyers for international employment matters and is “a highly experienced and longstanding employment expert”.

Valeria Morosini is recognised as a key figure for national and cross-border employment matters including industrial relations, restructuring and litigation.
