Natália Lamas is an “excellent and very smart” lawyer known for her “great knowledge of arbitration and contract law issues”.
Natália Lamas is a partner specialised in arbitration, contracts and corporate litigation across a variety of industries, including energy, oil and gas, real estate and construction. Prior to joining FCDG, she worked as a research assistant to the arbitration department of Shearman & Sterling in Paris and did traineeships before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, the arbitration department of Wilmer Hale LLP in London, Philippe Leboulanger Associés in Paris and in the Brazilian Diplomatic Mission to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva. She also worked as an associate at Nelson Eizirik Advogados, a corporate law boutique in Rio de Janeiro.
Natália holds a master’s degree in international commercial law from Université Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne and one master’s degree in international law from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). She is also a specialist in oil and gas law from the human resources programme held before UERJ with the support of Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). She obtained her bachelor’s degree in law from UERJ.
Natália teaches arbitration before the postgraduate professor of arbitration at Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (IBMEC-RJ), the Fundação Getúlio Vargas School of Law and Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC) in Rio de Janeiro. She has published several articles on arbitration-related issues and translated from French to Portuguese Emmanuel Gaillard’s book Aspects Philosophiques du droit de l’arbitrage international.
She is registered before the Brazilian Bar Association and speaks English and French fluently.
