Nancy Gutzler is a vice president at KCIC. She has over 30 years of experience providing financial and litigation support and expert testimony services to clients. She has assisted clients with analysis of claims data, sampling of claims populations, allocation of claims costs to insurance coverage, and development of claims processing procedures and systems. Nancy has particular expertise in mass torts, product liabilities and environmental pollution, and has consulted with clients on many issues related to the analysis of large volumes of claims.
Nancy utilises proprietary technology and her industry expertise to review and classify historic insurance coverage; reconcile and reconstruct historic claims data; forecast future liabilities; and allocate liabilities to insurance coverage. Additionally, Nancy has assisted policyholders in settlement discussions concerning a variety of coverage issues including the impact of alternative trigger and scope theories and has assisted defendants in identifying and recovering from insolvent insurers.
Nancy has designed custom systems from scratch to meet customer specifications. Her technical knowledge allows her to leverage cutting-edge technology to build in automation, data validation and controls. This produces a more efficient and effective end-product for her clients.
Nancy has provided testimony in a number of cases involving issues related to proof of underlying exhaustion, allocation of claims to insurance, implementation of cost sharing agreements including the Wellington Agreement, calculation of interest on in-lieu-of payments, and calculation of unpaid allocations and associated interest.
Nancy is a frequent speaker at conferences including those organised by the American Bar Association and Perrin Conferences.
