Michael Cross is a widely recognised practitioner who observers state "produces high-quality delay analysis".
Mr Cross has extensive experience of major construction arbitration and litigation, having acted for national and international contractors, subcontractors and employers on a wide range of building, civil engineering and mechanical and electrical disputes.
Mr Cross has acted as expert witness and adjudicator on a number of occasions, and has developed a specialisation in the field of dispute resolution and expert witness work in all aspects of quantum and retrospective delay analysis.
He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; an accredited expert witness (Cardiff University Bond Solon); and a member of the Academy of Experts.
He was recently appointed as an expert on programming issues in relation to delays incurred on insurance matter after the subsidence of a party wall following adjacent piling activities. This case was set to be heard in the TCC and settled on the first day of the hearing following the exchange of expert reports joint statements. Other recent expert appointments include: matters of delay and quantum in connection with a 380km underground pipeline in North Africa; delay and programming matters on a process plant in Trinidad; matters of quantum in connection with a five-star hotel in North Africa; matters of delay in connection with an LNG process plant at the Isle of Grain; quantum and delay and programming matters in respect of a combined cycle power plant in Russia; delay and programming matters in respect of a water treatment plant in Northern Ireland; and provision of an opinion on the delays incurred to the completion of a prestigious hotel development in London.
