For nearly 30 years, Mauricio Almeida Prado has represented companies in complex merger and acquisition operations, project structuring and international contracts. Currently, he focuses his practice in arbitration in arbitration (domestic and international), representing parties, and also as arbitrator in corporate, contractual and construction litigation.
Mauricio is member of one Board of Directors and one Audit Board of two corporations listed at the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3 – Novo Mercado).
He has a Phd from the University of Paris X (Nanterre) and a Master in International Trade Law from the University of São Paulo. He was Visiting Researcher at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law – Unidroit (Rome), Université de Paris II - Panthéon Assas, Université de Strasbourg and Columbia Law School (New York).
Mauricio has been highlighted by Chambers and Partners, Latin Lawyer, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Expert Guides, Leaders League, WWL and Anuário Análise Advocacia 500 as one of the best lawyers in his areas of practice.
Former professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas. Author of “Le hardship dans le droit du commerce international” and “Contrato internacional de transferência de tecnologia - Patente e Know-How”. He has also published articles both in Brazil and abroad regarding international contracts and arbitration.
Mauricio speaks Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
Member of the Institute of World Business Law, the ICC Commission on Arbitration (ADRs) and the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice (CLP). He is also a member of the Société de Législation Comparé (Paris), and of the Working Group of International Contracts, Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
