Biography

Martin K Weber (born 1982) is a partner of Roesle Frick & Partners based in Zurich with a dedicated team comprising of several lawyers and paralegals.

His practice focuses on private equity and venture capital, banking and finance, and corresponding investigations and financial crime matters. He is a recognised representative of the SIX Swiss Exchange. He is also a lecturer for legal and compliance in wealth management at HWZ business school in Zurich, and a guest lecturer for investigations in the financial industry at both the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich (master's programme in banking and finance).

In particular, he represents clients in investigations by Swiss and foreign authorities; organises internal and regulatory investigations and conducts compliance reviews, especially in the context of money laundering, corruption, abusive trading activities (such as insider trading or market abuse), corporate malpractice and cybercrime. In addition, he advises clients on compliance with respective regulatory standards and the enhancement of their compliance procedures.

Before joining Roesle Frick & Partners as a partner in 2015, he worked at the corporate law firm Homburger. He received an LLM degree from the University of California, Berkeley and graduated as a bilingual Master of Laws (French/German) from the Universities of Neuchâtel and Lucerne, where he also accomplished a doctorate in financial market regulation. He is admitted to the Bar of the Canton of Zurich (bar admission at all Swiss courts). In addition, he has been serving as a prosecutor and investigating judge of a Swiss military tribunal and was trained in forensics.

Martin is fluent in German, English and French.
