Dr Marta Sendrowicz is a partner in Allen & Overy LLP's Warsaw office and heads the Central and Eastern European EU and competition practice. She advises on a wide range of competition law issues arising out of commercial arrangements as well as on cases concerning abuse of dominance and high-profile mergers, including Phase II cases.
Marta has an active practice representing clients in a vast range of cases before the Polish Competition Authority and the European Commission in relation to antitrust investigations and proceedings initiated by leniency applications. She assists clients in reviewing their business structures and is a keen advocate of new business models reflecting clients’ needs and market challenges they may be facing.
She has handled cases for multinational and regional clients, PE houses, financial institutions, advising leading players operating in various industries.
Marta has been recognised for many years by all the principal legal directories as a leading individual in competition law in Poland, and the Warsaw competition practice has repeatedly been recognised as Elite by Global Competition Review. After graduating from the law faculty at Warsaw University in 1994, Marta completed an LLM programme in EU law at Maastricht University. In 2001, she completed her PhD studies in competition law at Warsaw University. Up until 2016, Marta lectured for nearly 20 years on EU law and EU competition law at Warsaw University’s faculty of law.
