Marina Matousekova is a partner at CastaldiPartners, where she co-heads the international arbitration and litigation practice.
Before joining CastaldiPartners in September 2018, Marina Matousekova practiced for eight years in the international arbitration team of Shearman & Sterling LLP in Paris and Milan; and for six years at Castaldi Mourre & Partners, the law firm founded by the current president of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Marina has over 16 years of experience in dealing with complex cross-border disputes, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean region and Africa. She has acted in the capacity of counsel, sole, presiding and co-arbitrator, as well as of secretary of the arbitral tribunal, in more than 60 ad hoc and institutional proceedings (in particular, but not exclusively, under the UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, CAM and Swiss Rules).
She advises clients in proceedings related notably to investment, construction, supply and sales agreements, M&A, joint venture, shareholder and general commercial disputes in a wide range of industries, such as energy (oil and gas, mining and renewables), aviation, telecommunications, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
Marina is a member of the editorial committee of the International Business Law Journal and of several professional associations. Apart from being designated as a Future Leader by WWL: Arbitration (2020 and 2021) and WWL: Construction (2019 and 2020), Marina Matousekova was elected by her peers on the list of Best Lawyers in Mediation and Arbitration in France in 2021. She has published several articles and is a frequent speaker on international arbitration.
Dually qualified to practise law in Paris and New York, Marina is fluent in English, French and Italian, and conversant in Czech, Slovak and Russian.
