Marc Scarcella is a principal and practice leader of the economic and complex analytics practice at Roux. Mr Scarcella has nearly 20 years of experience providing strategic consulting services and expert testimony regarding issues of economic damages and future risk estimation associated with environmental, product and commercial litigation. Mr Scarcella specialises in quantitative methods, and their applications in dispute resolution and strategic litigation management. His work has been leveraged in the context of mass torts, class actions, insurance coverage disputes, corporate litigation reserves, corporate transaction due diligence and bankruptcy estimation.
Mr Scarcella has acted as a consulting or testifying expert on a number of complex insurance coverage disputes, insurance arbitrations and bankruptcy reorganisations where he has developed economic models for estimating current and future damages, and potential insurance recoveries due to environmental and product liability claims. Mr Scarcella has evaluated future loss and litigation risk to areas that include, but are not limited to, asbestos, silica, pharmaceutical and medical devices, water contamination, sports-related head trauma, tobacco litigation, and various deleterious substances and environmental toxins.
Prior to joining Roux, Mr Scarcella was a principal at Bates White and a managing director at Analysis Research Planning Corporation. Mr Scarcella holds an MA in financial economics, as well as two BA degrees in economics and public affairs, from American University. In addition to litigation matters, Mr Scarcella has testified at numerous state and federal legislative hearings on matters of public policy.
