Mami Hino, one of the leading partners in Abe Ikubo & Katayama, is an experienced and skilled patent attorney, especially in relation to life sciences. She has extensive experience in complex patent litigation as well as Japan Patent Office (JPO) proceedings, involving biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and other life sciences, representing innovative companies.
Mami also has vast experience in prosecuting patent term extension (PTE) applications and PTE-related legal proceedings for life science products as well as regular patent applications protecting various aspects of life science products.
Based on her experience in litigation, JPO proceedings, and prosecution of patent applications and PTE applications, in combination with her abundant knowledge on regulatory requirements, Mami acts for and provides advice to clients on a variety of issues regarding life sciences products, such as evaluating core technologies for bio venture companies and helping them to develop their business; and assisting innovative companies in maximising exclusivity of their important products and avoiding unnecessary disputes to promote their products.
